Children’s Church

 Revonda Doolittle, Director

“Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put His hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.  But Jesus said, ‘Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come to me: for of such is the kingdom of  heaven.”  (ST.  Matthew 19, 13 & 14)

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he shall not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

The ultimate goal of the Children's Church is salvation of our children.  We then help lead and guide them as they grow in the Lord and train them to do His work as well as prepare them to enter into the next level of service.

During our Worship Service in the Children's Church, which is called KFC (Kids For Christ), we give the children an opportunity to worship in a setting that is conducive to their age and interest.  Our services include announcements, prayer requests and prayer, praise and worship, fellowship and the message.  All the children gather together for everything except the message.  At this time they separate into two groups, 4 year old through first grade in one group and second grade through age 12 in the other.  Once they separate the message is given to them on a level that is understandable for their age group.

We have a multitude of material that is used to help reinforce as well as simplify and enhance our services.  We have puppet ministry, drama, slide presentations, overhead stories, posters, film strips, videos, object lessons, hands on activities and participation in the service, magic with a meaning, decorative large size cards to demonstrate the message and activity sheets that correspond with each lesson.  Our main teaching material is The Train Depot literature, which contains Biblical lessons on an appropriate level for both age groups.
